Google 'Enrico Pace' and you get a whole series of hits referring to the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition. In 1989, Pace won First Prize in the prestigious competition in Utrecht and captured everyone's heart. Since then, he has been regarded as the ideal Liszt interpreter, and his artistry and his repertoire have deepened considerably. His excursions into chamber music, working alongside top violinists Frank Peter Zimmermann and Leonidas Kavakos, have also strengthened his abilities. It is the accomplished and purified Enrico Pace who now returns to the world of Liszt. There are few pianists who know how to convey their musical feelings in such a unique and innovative way. With pianistic surprises, but without intrusive pathos, he draws us into the deepest depths of Liszt's world of sound. Especially the 'Années de Pèlerinage', which is perfectly suited to him. In this musical diary, Liszt jotted down his travel impressions. In the first part, he conveys his impressions of the overwhelming natural landscapes of Switzerland. In the second, 'Italy', he is inspired by art and literature. You will 'hear' a painting by Raphaël, a sculpture by Michelangelo, three sonnets by Petrarch and the 'Inferno' from Dante's 'Divina Commedia'. Enrico Pace is your experienced guide!
