An eternal quest for unexpected connections: this is something of a trademark for Pygmalion, the outstanding choir and ensemble that Raphaël Pichon founded in 2006 and which can now be seen and heard for the first time at DE SINGEL. During this concert they will seek out Johann Sebastian Bach’s sources of inspiration. We hear music from his family members Johann Michael and Johann Christoph, from contemporaries and from forerunners. Lively tempos or space for nuance, textual importance or a focus on the melodic line: Pichon and his colleagues always strike the perfect balance.
