When Alfredo Bernardini and the Ensemble Zefiro play Bach, the sky clears. Their cheerful energy is infectious. Before you know it, you’re imagining yourself at a garden party in Brandenburg. The famous Brandenburg Concertos consist of six concerti grossi, each of which presents a different musical story, always with a different soloist in the leading role. So every soloist is given the necessary space to allow their own personal voice to sound out. Ensemble Zefiro’s performance is full of the joys of life and a genuine zest for playing. This music is infused into their fingers with such suppleness that every time afresh it sounds like new. If spring has a sound, then this is it.
