Hofkapelle München olv. Rüdiger Lotter
Angel Devil Priest
For the ‘Angel, Devil, Priest’ programme, Rüdiger Lotter and his Hofkapelle München will present a brilliant soloist, the violin player Chouchane Siranossian.
We start in Italy with the ‘Devil’: Pietro Antonio Locatelli, the first Italian violinist who, as he illustrated in his Concerto Grosso ‘Il Pianto d’Arianna’, created breathtaking effects for his instrument.
The ‘Angel’ Jean-Marie Leclair was also a skilled violin player and founder of the French violin school. Opus 10 No. 6 is his very last violin concerto, as well as the most demanding one.
The fame of the ‘Priest’, Antonio Vivaldi, as a master violin player extended far beyond Italy: his Concerto in D for two violins and orchestra was published in Amsterdam in 1736. This is one of Vivaldi’s most brilliant compositions.
