I Solisti del Vento - studenten KVC
To end this first day of the festival, the Solisti del Vento will be performing together with students from the Conservatory. This late-evening concert includes no less than two first-ever performances: a dixtuor by the young Flemish composer Petra Vermote and a work for double wind quintet by the equally young Dutchman Sander Germanus. Both are former students of the curator Luc Van Hove. We shall also hear the committed sounds of Luigi Nono (1924-1990): his music is radically twentieth-century in character but at the same time respects the Italian tradition of madrigals and polyphony. Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992) is given the last, nocturnal word. A deliberate choice by the curator Luc Van Hove.
