Belgium’s most creative wind ensemble I SOLISTI can be deployed on virtually all artistic terrains, and has the quality of an leading international formation. At deSingel they present two iconic works that are perfect for them. Mozart was one of the few composers able to deal with the unusual line-up of only woodwind and double bass. His ‘Gran Partita’ leaves no stone unturned in its quest to place the character of each instrument in the limelight. Dvorák too was unafraid of innovation. In his Serenade for Wind Instruments he experimented for the first time with the traditional music of his homeland, today’s Czech Republic, and penned a charming work that can safely be described as symphonic. A delicious banquet for connoisseurs!
