Pop songs don't last very long. They also have a recognisable sound. Transpose these two basic principles to a contemporary music ensemble and sit back and enjoy 'This is not a pop song'. The concept is simple: this concert consists of made-to-measure work with the total duration of a 45-rpm record. Furthermore, for the occasion, Ictus is unambiguously put together as an ensemble with bass, electric guitar, saxophone, synthesizer, drums and voice. As well as being a stylistic exercise with a fixed group of instruments, the evening also presents the challenge of creating a unique sound for each song. Michaël Levinas, Georges Aperghis, Eva Reiter and Jean-Luc Fafchamps display their talent for composition and look beyond the boundaries of musical genres. New music that is a gibe at pop, the seventies, psychedelica and rock? Their creations are performed alongside works that were written for a previous 'This is not a pop song'. We can guarantee you a great atmosphere, a touch of nonsense and a serious dose of feel-good sound!
