ISCM Verrassingsconcert
ISCM stands for the International Society of Contemporary Music, an organisation for contemporary art music established in 1923. It is an important international network for the promotion of contemporary music and currently has around fifty members from all corners of the world. The still very young ISCM Flanders directs its attention to composers, ensembles and documentation centres as well as to everyone who is involved in contemporary music. One of the most important and annually reccurring activities is the ISCM Day, with debates on contemporary music and concerts. At this second ISCM Day, several much-lauded works from the '2007 Call for Works' are on the programme, together with compositions from the wider network of ISCM International. The performers are members of ISCM Flanders, including Spectra, I Solisti del Vento, Champ d'Action and so on.
The ISCM Day is included in deSingel's 'Creations' season ticket and is free for ISCM members.
