Jazz Middelheim Jamnachten 2007

The biennial Jazz Middelheim festival is an important fixture in the international jazz world. The beautiful and intimate Den Brandt park is the summer meeting place for a wide audience of jazz aficionados. For the fourth successive time, deSingel is extending the festival with a night-time programme. Hosts and instigators of this year's notorious 'deSingel jam sessions' are the Dutch jazz all-rounders Talking Cows. They know the standard numbers of the fifties and sixties but are also masters of improvisation. With visor raised and a good dash of humour and modification, Talking Cows are a dream quartet to lead the jams in the right direction. Stars challenging local musicians, students daringly confronting the great names. They'll be jamming into the small hours for five long nights.
