Jean-Guihen Queyras

The all-round cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras is more than a highly popular performer, he is also a teacher at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart. Apart from early music and the large Romantic repertoire he also insists on immersing his students in contemporary scores. Indeed, there are plans for a project on Pierre Boulez' 'Messagesquisee' for cello solo and six cellists. Queyras will first present this work together with his students, then guide you step by step through Boulez' labyrinth of sound and so fully prepare you for a new listen to a performance of the whole work. The reward comes at the end, namely Queyras playing a solo suite by Bach!
