duration
1h 30' At the end of the summer, twenty-odd youngsters will once again create a music-theatre show under professional guidance. 'ParadiseHell' is part of the project commemorating the 500th anniversary of the death of the Dutch Renaissance painter Hieronymus Bosch. His imagery, full of monstrous figures and fantastic scenes, inspires us to examine the morality (sometimes double) in which we are often caught. Thanks to the efforts of all the participants, a new musical idiom takes shape, at the intersection of such different styles as pop, 15th-century chants, contemporary classical and improvisation.
Muziektheater Transparant sought out two leading musicians for the musical composition: the singer and violinist Liesa Van der Aa and the cellist and composer Michael Rauter, who is the artistic head of the Kaleidoskop soloists ensemble from Berlin. It is to be directed by Bianca van der Schoot and Suzan Boogaerdt, two of today's most controversial Dutch theatre-makers, who are currently creating a furore with highly visual shows.
