Clarinettist and composer Jörg Widmann, one of the most versatile figures in today’s music landscape, touches down at DE SINGEL this season with a short but sweet residence. In this concert, he will be joined by two discerning ‘compagnons de route’ on piano and viola. The fairy-tale musical world of the composer with whom Widmanns is obsessed - Robert Schumann - forms the backbone of the programme. The fragmented modernity of the Märchenerzählungen inspired Widmann to create his own fairy-tale composition. While Mozart’s Kegelstatt Trio transforms the sometimes-threatening fairy-tale forest into a pastoral idyll.
