50' Hans Beckers constructs fabulous sound installations. For his new performance Klopotec Orkestra he went to a magical old house in a Norwegian fishing village, the Kråkeslottet. The man who lives there collects beautiful pieces of driftwood that have been digested by the sea before being washed up on the beach. Hans Bekers used these to construct a remarkable orchestra from klopotecs: wind-rattles that in the distant past were used to scare away snakes from Slovenian vineyards. In the middle of his self-built wind-rattle orchestra, Hans Beckers enters into a musical dialogue with Teun Verbruggen, a masterful percussionist who earned his feathers with FES, Mélanie de Biasio and the Jef Neve Trio. Together they make Klopotec Orkestra into a visual and auditory spectacle that rattles and bangs and astounds like a colourful shadow play.
