Kris Defoort's Diving Poet Society

In Kris Defoort’s Diving Poet Society, two brilliant musicians join Devoort’s trio: the French sax poet Guillaume Orti and the Hungarian Veronika Harcsa. In this lyrical project, they together explore compositions inspired by the poems of Peter Verhelst – a unique and stubborn writer who embraces life in all its dark guises. They present an ode to life, balanced between improvisation and instant orchestration. Together they go in search of that one magical moment yet to be experienced. Five musical poets plunge into an ocean of endless colours, words and sounds. This leads to music which leaves no one unmoved. This concert sets the tone for an eclectic jazz season.
