Kryptos Quartet

For this extra concert in the music@venture festival, the young Kryptos Quartet chose two Italian works. Sei Quartetti Brevi comprises six short pieces for quartet written in 1967. They are typical of Salvatore Sciarrino's intimist and refined style of composition. La souris sans sourire (1988) takes us to the heart of Franco Donatoni's late compositions and the world they create. Here is a craftsman who endlessly polishes and remoulds his work.
