Albert Recasens is one of the great specialists in the Spanish and colonial music of the Renaissance and Baroque that employs more than one chorus. He opens our ‘Carmina Latina’ series together with his vocal and instrumental ensemble La Grande Chapelle. They play villancicos and antiphons from Latin-American archives and codices from the ‘época virreinal’, the colonial period in Spain’s Golden Age. An exceptionally appealing programme.
