A journey through unusual music, stories and anecdotes from contemporary composers!
Due to the new coronavirus measures, we are unfortunately forced to cancel this concert. We will keep you informed about this.
Star harpist Lavinia Meijer and the New York-based violist, radio maker and curator Nadia Sirota take you on a journey through unusual music, stories and anecdotes from high-profile contemporary classical composers. Following collaborations with Ólafur Arnalds, Philip Glass and Iggy Pop, Meijer continues her unremitting quest for new music and partnerships with Nadia Sirota. Since 2018 Sirota has been the ‘new music’ programmer for the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and in 2015 she won the Peabody Award for her podcast Meet the Composer. There could scarcely be a better advocate for contemporary music. Featuring music by composers including Nico Muhly, Philip Glass, Caroline Shaw and two premieres! Written especially for Meijer and Sirota by Ellis Ludwig-Leone and Ellen Reid, who arranges a part of her Pulitzer Prize-winning opera p r i s m (2019).
