This is your dream opportunity to once again experience a mythical concert, two hundred years on from the original. Well, half of it to be exact: in December 1808, Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto and his Fifth Symphony were premiered during a marathon performance together with the Pastoral Symphony and the Choral Fantasy! The concerto begins softly and sweetly. In the ‘Andante’, the melodic piano tempers the loud staccato of the strings, before moving on without a transition to the finale, a celebratory and pulsating rondo. An extraordinary work, here paired with the stunning Fifth Symphony… Yes, with Jan Caeyers, Le Concert Olympique and Alexander Melnikov, this promises to be a truly mythical concert. With a world premiere by the Flemish composer Jeroen D’hoe as an added bonus.
