Well, half of it to be exact: in December 1808, Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto and his Fifth Symphony were premiered during a marathon performance together with the Pastoral Symphony and the Choral Fantasy! The concerto begins softly and sweetly. In the ‘Andante’, the melodic piano tempers the loud staccato of the strings, before moving on without a transition to the finale, a celebratory and pulsating rondo.
