Leonidas Kavakos & Yuja Wang
Schubert, Debussy, Janácek, Bartók
This promises to be one of the season’s most exciting concerts! Fireworks are guaranteed with the flamboyant Chinese pianist Yuja Wang and the fabulous Greek violinist Leonidas Kavakos. Hidden behind Wang’s glamorous façade is a sincere, hard-working musician who knows her classics. She made her international breakthrough in 2007 when she stood in for Martha Argerich as a soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Leonidas Kavakos also conquered the world with his expressive bow technique and cast-iron musical vision. For several years, Kavakos and Wang have been sharing their passion for chamber music on the big concert stages. In this stylistically varied programme, ranging from Schubert’s fragile Fantasie to Bartóks stormy First Sonata, they can express their passion to the full. Whatever you do, don’t miss this pair of titans!
