Imagine: you love music, but you can never remember a melody. Imagine your father was an inventor. Imagine your name was John and what you like the most is actually the sound of silence.

‘Listen to the Silence’ is an invitation to the adventurous world of the American avant-garde composer John Cage. Ticking metronomes, a piano, an aviary, bouncing ping-pong balls, hissing radios and also the world itself. In this interactive performance you will discover how music can suddenly arise out of sounds and how chance gives it a helping hand.

‘Listen to the Silence’ is a poetic exploration of the space between silence and music. This production has won several international awards.
