Liza Ferschtman, Ivan Karizna and Enrico Pace play crackling chamber music.
There are no more than three of them, but this is set to be an electrifying chamber concert. There seems to be a power surge running through the programme of violinist Liza Ferschtman, cellist Ivan Karizna and pianist Enrico Pace. They force themselves to keep up a blistering pace with constant one-two combinations: in Schubert’s Grand Duo it is the violin and the piano that sound out; with the Grand Duet by Galina Oestvolskaja the cello takes his little brother’s place; and for the works of Widmann, Pace can give his fingers a rest. This is musical fencing, top notch note ping-pong… until the trio finally comes together in two energetic youth works by Brahms and Shostakovich. In short, an exceptionally high-octane chamber music programme in a perfect triad.
