Lucas & Arthur Jussen
Viertuoze handen
Lucas & Arthur Jussen return to the Blue Hall in Antwerp for more piano delight.
When the Jussens popped up on the international stage a decade ago, adjectives such as ‘sweet’ and ‘charming’ were always deployed. Today the blond brothers are no less warm, but these epithets have long since made way for ceaseless eulogies about their piano playing. Whether they now dive into music by modern Dutch masters, allow Russian repertoire to glide beneath their twenty fingers, or create contemporary work: Arthur are Lucas today ‘phenomenal’, ‘exuberant’, ‘sparkling’ and ‘wonderful’. Exactly a year after their triumphal march with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vasily Petrenko, this time it is just the two of them who return to the Blue Hall.
