The Czech mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená and the Japanese pianist Mitsuko Uchida have been a musical tandem for a number of years. Their repertoire is often surprising and their interaction is fuelled by their mutual musical intelligence. The subtle rhetoric and restrained energy of the pianist seem like the perfect basis for Kožená’s mercurial voice. Together they build a world of beauty in which only music counts. With Messiaen’s touching Poèmes pour Mi and the ethereal mélodies of Debussy, the duo returns to familiar repertoire that they have been performing together right from the start. And which over all these years have been allowed to ripen further. Do not miss this opportunity.
