Mariam Batsashvili

Mariam Batsashvili made her debut in the Blue Hall aged just 22. Anyone who was present knows what an astounding experience a recital by this Georgian pianist is. After six years of absence, anyone who missed her then finally has the chance to make up for it. Since her victory at the Lisztconcours, Liszt’s compositions are invariably on her programmes. In Antwerp she complements the imaginative triptych of Vallée d’Obermann, Bénédiction de Dieu dans la solitude and the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 10 with a sonata each by Beethoven and Mozart. With Nostalgia by Vaja Azarashvili she also puts a musical hero from her home country of Georgia in the spotlight.
