Omar Massa pays tribute to Astor Piazzolla and leads the tango nuevo into the 21st century
At the age of six, Omar Massa was playing the music of Astor Piazzolla in Cafe Tortoni, a famous tango café in Buenos Aires. In the meantime, he has grown to become one of the greatest bandoneonists of our time. Many even see him as the successor to the great Piazzolla himself. Together with his trio, Massa presents a tribute to the grand master of the tango nuevo, who was born a century ago. As well as works by Piazzolla, Massa also plays his own compositions, with which he leads the tango nuevo into the 21st century.
