A double concert with two stars from the young generation of pure flamenco artists! Miguel Ángel Cortés comes from a family who have been producing flamenco artists for generations. At the age of fourteen he was already working as a guitarist for great dancers like Mariquilla, Manolete, Antonio Canales, Javier Barón and Juan Andrés Maya. In addition, he accompanied great cante figures like Jose de la Tomasa, José Merce, Chano Lobato, Luis Heredia 'El Polaco', Enrique Morente and Esperanza Fernández. In 1990, he began to make music with singer Carmen Linares, often together with her brother Paco Cortés. His best known solo CDs are 'Patriarca' and 'Brodón de trapo', recordings that confirm his exceptional talent as a composer and guitarist.
Esperanza Fernández is a phenomenal singer who in addition to flamenco also specialises in the music of Manuel de Falla and Joaquin Turina. She too comes from a well-known flamenco family, as daughter of cantaor Curro Fernández and sister of Paco (guitarist) and Joselito (dancer). Esperanza has sung alongside Camarón de la Isla, Mario Maya, Paco de Lucia, Rafael Riqueni and Enrique Morente, to name but a few. During this concert, she will be your special guest!
