Guitar legend Manuel Moreno Junquera, better known as 'Moraíto', was born in the Barrio Santiago gypsy quarter in Jerez de la Frontera. He is the leading flamenco icon of his proud hometown. He plays guitar using the 'Toque de Jerez' technique, a typical playing style unique to the town. As an accompanist to singers, he is above all the right-hand man of the equally famous José Merce. But he accompanies pretty much everyone who's anyone in the flamenco world: Agujetas, El Torta, El Chocolate, etc. He originally made his debut alongside singer La Paquera de Jerez.
His falsetas has become legendary with flamenco guitarists throughout the world. For many, he was and is their most important source of inspiration. Especially when it comes to the bulería, the most festive flamenco rhythm. His best-known CD recordings are 'Mora y Oro' and the more recent 'Morao, Morao'. You can expect an exclusive concert with a six-strong group who represent the purest form of flamenco, with no concessions or crossovers.
