The outstanding violinist Natalja Prischepenko probably sparked your interest when you heard her play with the Artemis Quartet. So obviously you were very curious to hear her close up in her own recital. Together with her pianist Plamena Mangova, she will present an exciting programme that will make the heart of every violin fan beat that much faster. The pieces Stravinsky wrote for violin and piano are pure gems - gorgeous to listen to but really tricky to play. More virtuosity is displayed in the famous 'Kreutzer Sonata' by Beethoven; named after the French violinist to whom it was dedicated. This sonata exceeds the parameters of intimate chamber music in that it was written to be performed in large concert halls with grand effects in the style of a violin concerto. The Fantasy in C major by Schubert is an equally brilliant concert piece. Schubert quotes from one of his own songs: 'Sei mir gegrüßt' worked from a text by Friedrich Rückert. The Fantasy therefore has become intimately associated with 'Trennung' & 'Sehnsucht'.
We predict that in the future it will become impossible to do without this unique Violin and piano duo.
