Nederlands Blazers Ensemble - Johannette Zomer
Mozart's 'Le Nozze di Figaro' is a farce with dressing up and disguises, a comedy of manners in which Mozart and his librettist Da Ponte cut the nobility and the powerful of the Ancien Régime down to size. Immediately after its first performance in Vienna in 1786, the clarinettist and composer Johann Nepomuk Wendt (1745-1810) adapted it for a wind ensemble. The Nederlands Blazers Ensemble has now made it into a chamber opera with Johannette Zomer and Frans Fiselier in the double roles of Susanna, Countess Almaviva, Figaro, Count Almaviva Barbarina, Antonio and Cherubino.
The Nederlands Blazers Ensemble will for the occasion be playing period instruments.
