Philippe Herreweghe opts for Schumann and Dvořák!
Philippe Herreweghe has already repeatedly explored his fondness for the work of the German composer Robert Schumann. With his own Orchestre des Champs-Élysées he made a much-lauded recording of Schumann’s four symphonies. For Schumann’s Cello Concerto the bar is also set high. The versatile cellist Nicolas Altstaedt will be performing the extremely difficult solo part. He previously won the title of BBC New Generation Artist and will also be appearing regularly at DE SINGEL in the future. After this intense experience, Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7 will restore your serenity.
