Gifts are by definition exciting, even when you know what they are. This concert is one such gift. The evening revolves around composition, improvisation and everything in-between. Everything flows over into everything else. The dividing lines between a creation and a finished product are not drawn. Rather, the question posed is 'what is current music and how does new music come about?' Nothing is clear. What is certain is that there will be new pieces from Victor Kissine and Steve Houben. These are knitted together by the musicians from Oxalys and the super-pianist Bojan Vodenitcharov. As a composer-pianist, Vodenitcharov is at home in many different styles. Just like Steve Houben, he has a clear jazz background but he doesn't let himself be pigeon-holed… We are curious.
