A virtuoso. You cannot describe the Polish pianist Pjotr Anderszewski any better. Virtuosic in the execution of his dazzling finger acrobatics - remember the much talked about interpretation of the 'Diabelli variations'. You will have heard his virtuosity in the varied touch and timbre of his Chopin and Szymanovski interpretations. He is entirely unique in his virtuosity! Instead of getting stuck in playing purely for outward display, Anderszewski employs these acrobatics as a tool to access the very core of the music; Anderszewski wants to reveal the poetry in the music. To this end, he exploits the possibilities of the piano to the full, engaging all shades of nuance, register and articulation. Ranging from the legato of a cello solo to the brilliant sound of the sharp woodwind and rich tutti's. Anderszewski has thought about every piano work in an orchestral sense. Never will you hear the Steinway played so radiantly.
PLEASE NOTE! This recital has been postponed from Saturday 2 June to Tuesday 5 June 2007 because the initial date coincided with the final of the Queen Elisabeth Competition for piano.
