Always youthful and versatile, Quatuor Ebène are slowly becoming familiar faces. And yet… on their seventh visit to deSingel they will be introducing their brand new viola player. Marie Chilemme studied with Seiji Ozawa, Tabea Zimmermann and the Artemis Quartett, amongst others. With her previous quartet, Quatuor Cavatine, she won numerous prizes. Get to know the new line-up in one of Beethoven’s earliest string quartets and his last. Ebène thus spans the full breadth of its evolution in this genre. And you will hear Haydn’s legacy raised up to unseen heights. Brahms' first string quartet is rather more melancholy. And yet this fruit of a lengthy ten-year gestation period sounds exceptionally passionate and gracious. There’s not a note too many. Don’t miss this!
