After their widely applauded performance of Beethoven’s complete string quartets, the Quatuor Ébène are definitively members of the absolute quartet playing elite. Now they focus on three composers, each of whom was looking over his own shoulder: Purcell’s Fantasias crown two centuries of English music tradition.
