Quatuor Modigliani

Quatuor Modigliani is still a young ensemble, but they have already created quite a disturbance in the international concert world. Coached by Quatuor Ysaÿe and the Artemis Quartet, this foursome soon found themselves winning a series of international contests. The Philharmonie in Cologne selected them for the title of 'Rising Star Echo', which comes with a tour of the greatest European concert halls in the 2011-2012 season. In their first appearance at deSingel they will play early quartets by Schubert and Mendelssohn, with a clear nod in the direction of that great master, Beethoven. Debussy's only string quartet was also the work of a young composer, exploring sumptuous timbres and unprecedented sonorities. Quatuor Modigliani replaces the previously announced Meta4.
