Re-mix Orchestra . Paul Griffiths

The Re-Mix Orchestra is an improvisation orchestra for young people aged between twelve and seventeen. The teenagers make music with a number of orchestra members from deFilharmonie, under the baton of the British all-round musician Paul Griffiths. They work together for a period of one week on an unusual composition. This is followed by concerts in deSingel and at the Ghent end of the Oorsmeerfestival. The last two Re-Mix projects were a great success, partly due to the experience gained by Paul Griffiths at similar workshops and concerts with the London Symphony Orchestra. Young music lovers of all kinds and without earplugs are welcome at the workshop: the orchestra is open to everyone from rappers to violinists! No wonder that this concert comes under deSingel's diversity programme. Come and listen to this bizarre mix of young musicians and professionals during their free matinee concert in our Blue Hall.
