The multiple Grammy winner Samara Joy is destined for great things. She grew up in a musical family in which gospel and soul were woven into daily life. At the age of twenty, she won the prestigious Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, which got her career off to a flying start. Her first album Samara Joy from 2021 immediately demonstrated a striking maturity and drew attention to her warm, velvety voice. Her next album Linger Awhile from 2022 confirmed her talent and led to a major breakthrough, with two Grammys (for Best New Artist and Best Jazz Vocal Album) and huge popularity on TikTok as a result.
