duration
1h 40' 'PIANOLA, satire de trash' focuses on the period of Futurism, with the pianola as its common thread. Like the automatic loom, the pianola symbolises the start of the modern era: it was not only domestic weavers who lost their jobs, but also cinema and bar-room pianists. New ideologies thought up a new role for man in the mechanical world. The machine was intended to liberate him and give him time for his intellectual and creative development. We are experiencing a similar development today. Shall we once again be able to see, feel and smell following the dark virtual years, and that thanks to robots? Four characters - Boris Pasternak, Igor Stravinsky, Claude Debussy and Ko Kowalsky - interpreted by musicians and a robot dance ensemble, lead you through a blistering performance.
