Trumpeter Taylor Ho Bynum (born Boston, 1975) is a musical omnivore who works with DJs, composers, film directors, stage directors, dance ensembles and artists. He is the perfect sparring partner for Anthony Braxton and Cecil Taylor. In De Morgen, Didier Wijnants called him a jazz musician in the best Armstrong tradition: "If the trumpet or cornet is not jubilant, then something is wrong. Compared to his playing, even the range of someone like Dave Douglas seems limited and that is really saying something." For Spider Monkey Strings, Ho Bynum recruits from the pick of contemporary rock, jazz and new music in New York.
