STADT, the absolute cream of the Ghent music scene, have a preference for both elaborate rock songs and improvisation. Two opposite extremes, it would seem. Is there a line that divides them? Is the relationship between song and improvisation linear? How can a number with striking melodies be reinvented on the spot? STADT sees its residency at deSingel as a laboratory where a new idiom can be developed. With the aim of moulding powerful melodies and deep rhythms into an original, ever-changing form.
