1h 30' An absurd philosophical performance about doubt and the limits of language.
Four figures step onto the grass of a golf course. They do not know each other personally, but all four are members of the Society Against Doubt. They are meeting with a purpose: to formulate universal ideas about the world and about being human, in order to finally eradicate doubt. Hesitantly, they begin to think, talk, stutter, and play golf.
No one makes any progress. Not when it comes to thinking, not when it comes to talking, and not when it comes to playing golf – although there may be some improvement in their stuttering. Yes, their stuttering seems to be improving.
In this performative work, the tension between the desire for certainty and the failure of language is unravelled in a 90-minute composition.
