For the past 5 years, The Colorist Orchestra has been exploring the varied repertoire of singer-songwriters with which the founders/percussionists Kobe Proesmans and Aarich Jespers feel a strong affinity. In coordination with the invitee, they set to work with the songs and colour them in with an idiosyncratic and atypical toolbox of instruments.
For the latest project, none other than Gabriel Rios has been invited to perform. This citizen of the world from Puerto Rico, Ghent and New York always seeks out new challenges. Rios is a born musician who feels equally at home in sensitive electro pop and in stripped-bare songs with sober piano or guitar accompaniment. The Colorist Orchestra also that likes to seek out a daring path. It will be fascinating to see how these two worlds will connect. Most definitely a challenge.
