The Golden Glows, Valgeir Sigurðsson & B.O.X

The Golden Glows and the the baroque pop ensemble B.O.X (Baroque Orchestration X) used to specialise in old Americana. They created their new production, 'On Moonlight and Rain', together with no one less than the Icelandic composer/producer Valgeir Sigurðsson (Bedroom Community). This magical, highly visual multimedia show is inspired by another age-old form of entertainment: the magic lantern or 'laterna magica'. In the early nineteenth century, the historical figure Étienne Gaspard Robert, alias 'Robertson', a Belgian avant la lettre, caused a furore throughout Europe with his phantasmagoria or 'art of making ghosts speak'. This gives the show a fine balance between past and present. 'On Moonlight and Rain' is a modern phantasmagoria inspired by a historical technique.
