Award-winning jazz pianist Tigran Hamasyan is one of those artists who always gives his all, both on and offstage. His music mixes contemporary jazz with the power of rock and a dash of his Armenian roots. His latest work, The Bird Of A Thousand Voices, is inspired by an old Armenian folk tale that describes the search for world harmony. For this unique musical and visual show, he joins forces with director Ruben van Leer, known for his breathtaking multimedia projects; and visual artist Boris Acket, who creates an enchanting audiovisual landscape. Together with the blistering voice of Heghine Khachatryan and a bilingual libretto by Florian Hellwig, they bring to life an Armenian myth that has fascinated Hamasyan since childhood. Their message? To change the world, we first have to change ourselves.
