Workshops . Prometheus Ensemble

Following a successful association with the Prometheus Ensemble in 2008 we have booked this workshop once more. It is not often that young students have the opportunity to hear their work live, let alone performed by top musicians. Therefore, the Prometheus Ensemble and deSingel will be giving a workshop in which the ensemble acts as a sounding board and practical response for young composers. Students of composition at Belgian and Dutch academies of music are allowed to submit their work. Over the weekend a selection will be played and carefully scrutinised by the conductor Etienne Siebens together with the musicians and experienced composer mentors. The student-composers may try out changes on the spot and exchange ideas with the musicians, established composers and the audience. The workshop will close with a public concert.
