Princess Diana features in a multimedia show about the female voice and media pressure.
How much control over their own story do women have in a completely mediatized world? Journalist Martin Bashir’s iconic BBC interview with Diana, Princess of Wales serves as the historical backdrop to this multimedia performance. In the 1995 interview, Diana revealed herself to be a true ‘queen of hearts’, an authentic woman with a warm heart for her family and numerous humanitarian causes. At the same time, she also addressed the structural violence and sexism within the British monarchy, from a specifically female perspective. Today Diana has long been replaced by self-proclaimed Instagram princesses, and the paparazzi by internet trolls and shit storms. But Diana's myth remains an example of the systematic revenge against women who dare to speak out publicly. In this multimedia sound space, soprano Sarah Maria Sun and actor Silvester von Hösslin give voice to what remains unsaid and explore the contemporary context of the interview.
