This desolate, quietly intense drama gets under your skin and into your bones … unforgettable. The Times
British screenwriter and director Alexander Zeldin has a keen eye for inequality. With his strong and empathic theatre, he conveys far more than facts and figures can ever express. His emotional realism in impressive sets stays with you. Following the Belgian premiere of his Love in 2022, DE SINGEL is therefore delighted to present Prendre Soin: a French-language reworking of his widely acclaimed play Beyond Caring.
Prendre Soin centres on the struggles of the underdog. These are as heartrending as they are heartwarming, as compelling as they are amusing. Five cleaners are working the night shift in a meat factory. They clean, take a break, read a book, drink coffee together. Every shift anew. When the sun rises, they go home or to their other jobs. The cycle repeats itself, time and time again. Until the isolated strangers grow closer. Brutal, honest and oh-so human.
