2h The main character in ‘True Copy’ is the master-forger Geert Jan Jansen. He managed to deceive the art world for 20 years: Appel, Chagall, Matisse, Picasso, Hockney, Klimt, Warhol… He made perfect copies of the works of no fewer than 17 master painters. His life touches on a central theme in Berlin's oeuvre: where is the line that separates reality and fiction? The preparation of the creation is already producing a gold mine of ideas. Makers Bart Baele and Yves Degryseu allow us a glimpse into their creative kitchen. The evening will focus on falsehood with elements from their research, surprising encounters and theatrical interventions. Interspersed with video, sound and interviews in a manner that is typical of Berlin.
