1h 20' Having graduated from P.A.R.T.S. in 1999, the choreographer Charlotte Vanden Eynde and Ugo Haes together set up 'Kwaad Bloed', an organisation that enabled her to start exploring. In previous creations she concentrated on a far-reaching study of the body in which she examined such topics as beauty, vulnerability and intimacy. In 'Beginnings/Endings' her basic premises were radically different. The only element present at its start is the bodies' tactile consciousness. Out of this arises each contact, each movement and consequently the entire 'choreography'. 'Beginnings/Endings' is founded on the conviction that when you allow a body to flourish without constraint it always tells you something. In this piece Vanden Eynde is in several senses entering unknown territory. For the first time she is seeking pure movement. It is also her first creation for a larger ensemble and a bigger stage.
