'I always try to be aware of the plurality of every word by listening closely to the text.' Claude Régy uncompromisingly opts for modern spoken word repertoire. The plays are often unknown and unpublished. Nothing is gratuitous as far as he is concerned. He considers every theatrical or scenic element according to how it serves the text. This time he chose Arne Lygre, a young Norwegian author who is not known in Belgium. In 'Homme sans but' everything is ruled by money, and people have become merchandise. The text questions the 'reality of what is real' in a world where fictitious reality, or the virtual, increasingly dominates. A man builds a city out of nothing and amasses power and fortune. When he dies the city is demolished. For the director this is on a parallel with the destruction of Babylon, which the Bible describes as 'the great prostitute of the Apocalypse'.
